History
Fu Jen Catholic University was first established in Beijing in 1925 at
the order of Pope Pius XI. In 1962, it was re-established in Taiwan at its
current location in New Taipei City. The Department of Economics was one of the
first departments that Fu Jen established as it re-founded itself here in
Taiwan. In 1992, the Department established a Master's program in Economics.
Over the past 60 years, the Department has grown into a solid educational
institute in the University. We have 500 undergraduate students, 28 graduate
students, around 15 faculty members, and 4 supporting staff in the Department.
Today we are proud to say we have thousands of alumni who have graduated from
our program. They contribute greatly both to our local society and to a variety
of countries around the world.
